What is MAYSA Rec Fifth-Eighth?

Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) is our district office. Magic and almost 40 other area clubs belong to MAYSA. They assist in interpreting and disseminating information from the US Soccer Association for us.

Once our players enter the Fifth Grade, those who do not wish to try out for Classic have the option to play Recreational soccer for four more years! These teams are grouped together with clubs in MAYSA to form the MAYSA League. Magic teams are placed in brackets and play teams from surrounding communities similar to their level of competition. MAYSA created a new format of bracketing in the Fall of 2016. Recreational teams may play Classic teams from other communities, depending on where teams are placed.

Practice and Game Info

Teams typically practice from 1-2 times per week, with most games occurring on Saturday mornings&afternoons, and some Sunday afternoons. At times, a game may be scheduled on a weekday. Tournaments are optional. Most coaches are volunteer and do not receive pay for their time. There are referees and your team divides the cost of payment evenly among all players.

Registration for MAYSA League Girls or Coed includes 8 games in Fall and 8 games in Spring. Uniforms are an additional cost and should be ordered a the time of registration. Scholarships are available to students who receive reduced or free lunch, or upon request due to family financial hardship. Please see our Scholarship page for more details.
