What is the Alliance?

The Alliance is a cooperative effort between Magic, Middleton United, Regent and Shorewood Soccer Clubs and our Premier partner, the Madison 56ers, to provide the best possible soccer environment for ALL players. Together we support teams ranging from local recreational league soccer to the regional premier level.

Teams from Magic, MU, Regent and Shorewood, as well as Capitol East, at the Third and Fourth Grades combine to create the Alliance League. This means Magic teams play other teams from the above listed clubs. Referees are assigned through a Referee Assignor and games are scheduled by a Master Scheduler. Teams are placed in brackets based on input from the coaches, and play teams with similar skills and abilities.

Magic also cooperatively holds tryouts for our Classic teams at the same dates, times and location as the other Allliance Clubs. The sharing of resources decreases the cost for each Club, and thus, passes savings down to families who register and attend Tryouts.

What is MAYSA?

Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) is the district governing body for local soccer clubs. There are almost 40 clubs within MAYSA, including Magic and our Alliance clubs (Madison 56ers are a part of the state league, not the local MAYSA league). MAYSA schedules games and referees for all recreational and Classic U11+ games, and some U9-10 games for clubs whose teams participate in the MAYSA League at that age.

There are Fall and Spring tournaments are hosted by MAYSA. Please see their website for more information. MAYSA staff are also responsible for verifying birth certificates/passport photos for all players at the Classic level and various Recreational players born before a certain year. They are also responsible for approving rosters for U11+ teams and generating the Player Passes.

MAYSA is a part of the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), and assists local clubs by disseminating information regarding rule changes, recent birth year mandates, as well as answering any questions local club staff have. Please visit their website for more information

What is WYSA?

Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) is the state level organization which brings together clubs from all across the state of Wisconsin. They are a member of the U.S. Youth soccer Association and assists district organizations such as MAYSA to interpret new mandates and rulings. WYSA is the repository for all Coach Passes and Courses
